I don't remember this at all, but apparently I made myself a playlist called "High School Rock".

Jimmy Eat World
A New Found Glory
Third Eye Blind
Eve 6
Alkaline Trio
Stone Temple Pilots
etc etc etc

What's not to love about this??

The last 24 hours

The workweek is pretty consistent. Nothing too interesting, just a slow simmering combo of relaxation and boredom.Mornings are the best. I get up (relatively) early and hang out listening to music, enjoy a cup of tea, and catch up on my never-ending reading lists. (Finished two books this week - finally pushed through A Short History of Nearly Everything, which I've been reading on and off for almost 4 years now, and The Death of Artemio Cruz.)
Forget taking pictures of the afternoon coming in to work. Check out that sunset! Photos don't even start to do it justice.

Coworker being introspective and poetic on the beach.

Having never really had long hair before, I find myself trying really, really hard to do something with it. Youtube suggested this gem. ... I think not.

It's been slow lately. Which means you have to get creative with the menial tasks!

Who's got the Mondays??

The Internet is spazzing out this morning!

The Hood Internet
is being downloaded so much that many of its links are over capacity.
The Pirate Bay's search engine has been overloaded for the last 30 minutes.
And of course, the Sasquatch! page is struggling to load under the weight of all the thousands of over-excited PNW kids trying to validate spending almost $300 on concert tickets. (I'm leaning toward doing it myself!)

Man I love days that start off all exciting like this!

Did I mention I got a new camera?

While taking a shower today, I noticed that the tub was draining a little slower than usual. "Hmm," I though. "I bet there's some hair down there. I should fix that."
Growing up with two older brothers, then living with various boys throughout college, I've learned that you can't rely on men to do things that would be considered Minor Projects in Cleanliness. Aside from removing hair from the shower drain, these Projects include vacuuming, doing the dishes, and wiping down counters. (Not to say I'm perfect. There are three tea mugs in my room right now, and a box of clothes for the Goodwill that's been in the living room going on 5 weeks now.)
Let's get back on track. Hair!
That's the first of three wads I pulled out. Look how long it is! Definitely two feet.
Did I hear you say you wanted a closeup? Well, I'd be happy to oblige!
Aw yeah. That's a good 4 months of hair all wrapped up around itself. And with only 2 girls in the house! Seeing it all, I'm shocked that the drain was only just a little bit slow.
Now the Internet usually follows things like this up with a Unicorn Chaser, but I don't have any pictures of unicorns on hand right now. So instead I'll give you a picture of Birch Bay and the San Juans, taken around 2:30pm yesterday.
Ahh, much better.

Got a temporary cap on my tooth at the dentist's today. The dental assistant had to pry the mirror out of my fingers to make me stop staring at the little nub left over after all the drilling. It's so tiny! And kind of eerily adorable! Kind of like this girl. Just knowing that the temporary cap can be removed with nothing more than a bit floss and some jiggling is very, very tempting. I'm itching to pull it out. When the dentist was drilling, I could feel little bits of tooth dust being blown around in my mouth. Every now and then I'd catch a whiff of faint burning smell. The memory of that first tongue-probing and realizing how little of the tooth was left is permanently imprinted in my memory. Considering my tendency to have recurring dreams where I'm trying to keep my teeth from falling out by fitting them under my retainer, I look forward to tonight!
